First official program package developed in MATLAB! Done in honor of Cleve Moler: co-founder of MathWorks to market his MATLAB program. This package includes six (6) different scripts, plotting and graphing the statistical findings from Kris Caballero's independently published research paper, Milk Crate Challenge: Statistical Findings Behind the Social Media Phenomenon. Due to Kris' complete respect with the MATLAB programming language, and done in his personal tribute to both the language's and their company's co-founder, this simple project displays the graphical power of MATLAB and its amazing plug-in packages. In addition, as a research bonus, this project showcased the statistics behind the social media trend in 2021...using a vector field.
This is the first version—v1.00.
The main purpose behind this project is three-fold: first being a graphical representation of calculations done for Kris Caballero's self-published research paper Milk Crate Challenge: Statistical Findings Behind the Social Media Phenomenon. Secondly, to showcase the simplicity, and ease of use, this programming language portrays (despite licensing costs); in other words, this undertook that "shame-less promotion" for a closed-source programming language not often considered nor done outside of work/school. Thirdly, this project was done out of honor to Cleve Moler: creator of MATLAB and co-founder, with Jack Little, of mathworks.com.
Note: these scripts were not tested using the open source program GNU Octave.
Must have MATLAB r2026a, or 2025 version, installed to try and test. You can try MATLAB for free at https://www.mathworks.com/campaigns/products/trials.html?prodcode=ML&s_tid=ml_bottom_trial
